Executive Director: ABCD, a human service agency with a 50-year history of dedication, innovation, and excellence in fighting the War on Poverty seeks a new leader with a proven history in organizational management and a deep passion for our anti-poverty mission. To continue our agency’s trajectory of operational excellence, our new Executive Director must be action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable and innovative with a commitment to sound business practices and inter-/intra-agency collaboration. S/he brings strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to coach and manage a high performance team and support a dedicated Board of Directors. Successful candidates hold an advanced degree, ideally an MBA or MPA, with at least 8 years of senior management experience. S/he has an established a track record of effectively leading a regional or state-level organization and developing and implementing operational strategies to lead an organization to its next stage of growth. The following positions are available at the ABCD, Inc., Early Learning Department:

Teacher: Responsible for all educational activities of the classroom, and to aid the Teacher Assistant/Volunteers in their assigned duties. Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe. Responsible for implementing the curriculum of the classroom, and planning and writing weekly lesson plans. Responsible for daily and monthly reports for designated classroom. Responsible for the development and periodic review of individualized educational plans for each child. Maintain orderly classroom and keep equipment/supplies in good condition. Implement individual profile and I.E.P.’s as well as lesson plans. Responsible for scheduling home visits (minimum of two) and parent contacts (Head Start). Assist in preparing monthly reports with Family Case Worker. Assist the Site Manager with placing in classroom. Education/Experience/Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a non ECE Bachelor’s with 12 credits in ECE plus six months or more of classroom experience in ECE setting preferred. Proficient in the use of computer programs preferred. Good organizational skills required. Good oral and written communication skills required. Bi-lingual helpful but not required. Starting Salary: $16.84/hour for 35 hours/week paid on a bi-weekly basis.

Teacher Infant & Toddler: Responsible for all educational activities of the classroom, and to aid the Teacher Assistant/Volunteers in their assigned duties. Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe. Responsible for implementing the curriculum of the classroom, and planning and writing case notes. Responsible for daily and monthly reports for designated classroom. Responsible for the development and periodic review of individualized educational plans for each child. Maintain orderly classroom and keep equipment/supplies in good condition. Implement individual profile and I.F.S.P.’s. Collect Data and complete observations and assessments. Responsible for room coverage at all times as well as maintaining a safe indoor/outdoor environment. Share responsibilities involving breakfast, lunch and snack. Prepare baby formula and sterilize equipment. Change diapers on a regular basis. Plan programs in accordance with Head Start/Day Care regulations. Education/Experience/Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a non ECE Bachelor’s with 12 credits in ECE plus six months or more of classroom experience in ECE setting preferred. OR an Associate’s Degree in ECE or a non ECE Associate with 12 credits in ECE, plus One year classroom experience in ECE setting preferred. OR a CDA credential in ECE with a focus on infants/toddlers and working towards as Associate’s Degree, plus two years classroom experience in ECE setting preferred. Good organizational skills required. Good oral and written communication skills required. Good computer skills required. Bi-lingual helpful but not required.
